To spruce up the Pacific Party Canopies’ Bellingham showroom, I worked on a few crafts this week.
First off, I spray painted some cheap wooden hearts and a heart frame from Michael’s. I had some spray painted wine bottles from an earlier display that I wanted to hang them on. I also sprayed the insert for the wooden heart so it would be a solid color instead of a photo. However, you could put a photo of you and your beloved in the frame for your Valentine’s table.
The finished table looked pretty good. Add soft music and candlelight and it would be the perfect setting for a rustic Valentine’s Day. Check out those chair sashes. I love the gold and the way it’s tied.
For our main table, I wanted to create some interest in the ceiling. I decided to hang a few decorations and a few sashes as a color swag. Unfortunately, this took me the most time, mainly because I had never done it before. I went through a few iterations. If I just tucked the ends of the fabric into the ceiling, the other fabric would fall down, plus the ends got dirty. Next, I tried rubber banding them together and making sort of a braid. This pseudo worked, but still did not capture the look I was wanting. Plus, it left a gap in the ceiling tiles. Finally, I realized I needed some hardware. We had some rounded metal clasps from Walmart that we hang our napkins with that I used as a ring to thread each end of the sashes through. I tied a small amount of fishing wire around the circle and the other end to a paper clip. I bent the paper clip into a hook and slid it under the ceiling tile. This worked nicely. The paperclip wasn’t altogether necessary, but worked well with heavier items like the glitter heart hang in the center of the table.
This was the final look!
The back of the chiavari chair is threaded with a pale pink table runner and a cherry sash.
