We {heart} ribbon

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

orange-steelHave you included ribbon as part of your event decor plan? These are some napkins dolled up for our booth at this weekend’s bridal show at the Lakeway Inn.

We love ribbon because it’s an inexpensive way to add pattern to solid linens and tableware. It can inspire new color combos, too.

Other uses: Cinch a linen around a cocktail table’s stem with ribbon, or layer ribbon over linen sashes to tie tent leg drapes.

Bridal show preview for 2011

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

It’s coming on fast: As soon as the holidays pass, *BAM!* it’s wedding-planning season. And with the new year comes the local bridal shows. You’ll find a list below. One of our event experts will be at each show to meet YOU, so look for us there!

5 REASONS TO GO TO A BRIDAL SHOW:

1. Collect lots of information in a short period of time. Think web search is fast? Well, try a bridal fair. You’ll get a bag stuffed with fliers and goodies right when you walk in the door.

2. See, touch, taste, smell and hear what local bridal pros have to offer. Nothing beats in-person contact.

3. Vet your vendors. Think of it as speed dating. In short order, you’ll find out which vendors you want to see again (for a consultation) and which you don’t, thank you very much.

4. Hear other brides’ and vendors’ ideas. OK, this is kind of like eavesdropping. But with lots of people around, you’re bound to stumble on a vendor explaining his services or a bride exclaiming to her posse about something she just discovered. Learn from others around you.

5. Have fun! Meet new people, taste-test delicious treats and enjoy the festive atmosphere with others who are planning their own special day.

All jazzed up to go now? Here are the dates for local shows that cater to brides from Lynden and Bellingham down to Stanwood and Everett. Mark your calendar!

Before you go, take a look at these tips for getting the most out of a show. (The webpage is antiquated, but there’s good information in there.)

See you at the shows!
