Complement pink palettes with rose wine

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

MSW-rose-wine-picks-guideFor all of you many brides choosing pink, fuchsia and coral colors for your weddings, here’s a tasteful way to continue the theme: Serve guests a rose wine during the festivities. And this thoughtful detail doesn’t even need to cost you more!

pink-martinellis-cider-wedding-toastFor an extra flush of pink without added cost, ask guests to toast your nuptials with glass flutes of rose champagne or pink sparkling cider. If you planned to include something bubbly, why not swap gold for pink? For a budget-friendly (and non-alcoholic) option, look to the widely available sparkling juices from Martinelli’s, for example, which come in several flavors/shades of pink, including the fiery Sparkling Apple-Pomegranate (photo at right).

To accompany a meal or hors d’oeuvres, there is a range of rose wines available, from delicate to spicy, to fit most budgets. Take a look at the rose wine picks online at Martha Stewart Weddings for ideas (some picks illustrated in photo above left).

For pink tablecloths and cloth napkins to coordinate with these rosy drinks, visit our Linens rental page. Look especially for Watermelon Crush and Fuchsia Solid, as well as Watermelon Solid and Coral Satin — two new colors this season!

To get this look, you’ll need lime and fuchsia tablecloths (and sashes for the tent legs), a black and white dance floor, a row of serpentine tables, a 20′ x 40′ Epic Designer Series canopy … oh, and lots of candy!

Moroccan table setting fuschia and orangeNot only can you set the mood with color, but you can also set the temperature.

Bright colors reminiscent of Morocco, India or the Caribbean will make guests feel transported to somewhere warmer. Not a bad trick to have up your sleeve when you can’t count on balmy weather here in the Northwest.

Here we used our new Orange Circle Taffeta square overlay on a Goldenrod Solid floor-length linen. What really makes the combo hot, though, is the Fuchsia Solid napkins and chair sashes. ›Browse rental linens

Do your event your way

navy-tableHere’s one of our lobby tables this week. Navy isn’t a particularly trendy color right now, but it just happens to be one of my favorite colors. And that’s my point today — if you really like a certain color or motif, just go with it regardless of trends. After all, you’re going to be looking at your event photos for many years, and this year’s “in” color might not look so appealing to you 20 years from now.
