Rentals complement a ‘green’ event

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Are you planning a “green” wedding or other event? Then consider how rentals (the “reuse” of the three R’s) can lessen the environmental impact of your big day. For example, rather than buying and discarding 200 or so disposable place settings, you could rent them. And bonus: You’re still not stuck washing dishes.

Consider renting items in these categories rather than purchasing them:

Complement pink palettes with rose wine

MSW-rose-wine-picks-guideFor all of you many brides choosing pink, fuchsia and coral colors for your weddings, here’s a tasteful way to continue the theme: Serve guests a rose wine during the festivities. And this thoughtful detail doesn’t even need to cost you more!

pink-martinellis-cider-wedding-toastFor an extra flush of pink without added cost, ask guests to toast your nuptials with glass flutes of rose champagne or pink sparkling cider. If you planned to include something bubbly, why not swap gold for pink? For a budget-friendly (and non-alcoholic) option, look to the widely available sparkling juices from Martinelli’s, for example, which come in several flavors/shades of pink, including the fiery Sparkling Apple-Pomegranate (photo at right).

To accompany a meal or hors d’oeuvres, there is a range of rose wines available, from delicate to spicy, to fit most budgets. Take a look at the rose wine picks online at Martha Stewart Weddings for ideas (some picks illustrated in photo above left).

For pink tablecloths and cloth napkins to coordinate with these rosy drinks, visit our Linens rental page. Look especially for Watermelon Crush and Fuchsia Solid, as well as Watermelon Solid and Coral Satin — two new colors this season!

Tall table will show off your wedding cake

Friday, March 12th, 2010

wedding-cakeProblem: You shelled out for a stunning wedding cake to feed the masses, and you want everyone to see it.

Solution: Use a table on extended legs (we can provide these). With a little added height, your sweet treat will be visible from even the farthest guest tables. Just remember to get a slightly longer tablecloth (but don’t let it puddle on the floor — imagine the trip and drag hazard!).

We’ll try to accommodate your plans — Just ask!

msweddings-chocolate-spoonsOffering your guests chocolate-dipped spoons to go with their after-dinner coffee is a sweet touch. But it takes a little work ahead of time to pull off this tasty treat.

If you need spoons in advance for chocolate dipping or you would like extra time for folding napkins, just ask us! In some situations, you may be able to pick up a few of the items from your order a day before delivery at no extra charge.

Because we offer 1- to 3-day rentals — rather than charging by the day or even by the hour (eek!) — we can be flexible with you. So fill us in on your plans, and we’ll do our best to make them happen.

You can read more online about our Policies and Frequently Asked Questions, or call us at (360) 707-2115 and one of our friendly sales associates will explain everything for you.

(For chocolate spoon directions, visit Martha Stewart Weddings.)
